10 miles northwest of Cartersville
Description:This wildlife management area, on 14,900 acres, offers many hiking trails with a great year round stocked trout stream. Some managed hunts are held here during season and hiking and mountain biking is allowed. This land is actually owned by a paper company but is managed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Fish and Game Division. There are several interesting areas here including an 1857 iron furnace.
Directions: HWY 20 West out of Canton towards Cartersville. Cross over the Bartow County line slow down to turn right on Brooks Rd, NE. Come to a stop sign and bear Left on Stamp Creek Road. This is a windy, curvy road. You'll pass a church on the right...that's about 3/4 of the way there. (My guess is the total mileage on Stamp Creek is about 4 miles) A few more turns and you'll come upon a gravel parking lot on your right with 3 turn ins.
