Cherokee County Saddle Club Projects:

Volunteer at Garland Mountain

Volunteers are asked to pre-register with Cindy Young at Cdingodog1@aol.com or (770) 517-9550.

Everyone should bring work gloves and wear long pants. Please bring plenty of drinking water and your lunch. We will take a half-hour break around noon to rest and enjoy lunch. If you have loppers (not hand clippers) please bring them. We have a special need for chainsaws and experienced chainsaw operators. Sawyers do not have to be federally certified but MUST have and wear proper safety equipment. Sawyers need chainsaws, safety chaps, ear and eye protection, leather or sturdy shoes/boots (not tennis shoes), hard hats, and their fuel and oil supply. The team can provide hard hats but sawyers must wear safety chaps to use a chainsaw. We will also need some strong persons to work with the sawyers, moving cut tree parts.

We will meet on the roadside near the parking lot. Please arrive early so that you are ready to work at 9:00.
