"Trails End Concessions" will offer $5 grilled hot dog and hamburger lunch plates, Waleska Fire and Rescue and new Milton Emergency Horse Rescue will have their trucks and equipment on site for kids of all ages to explore, and there will be saddle club and other horse related booths and more.

Many county dignitaries, including our Commissioners and Mayors will be there for the Ribbon Cutting and then ride out on provided horses or walk for a short trail tour. Those bringing horses will be introduced to all of the opening trails on a guided trail ride lasting about 2 hours or more. Hikers are free to explore the trails as they wish.

The opening of GMHHT Phase I trails is an especially proud and anticipated event for equestrians. Through a partnership with Cherokee County and the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency initiated in 2007, the Cherokee County Saddle Club has organized volunteers to design and construct the trail facilities focused on equestrian needs, safety and environmental conservation. This makes the GMHHT a public park we can be proud of and truly call our own!
