Cherokee County Saddle Club Educational Events 2008

Each year the Cherokee County Saddle Club presents several educational events focused on riding, horse health and care, and subjects of interest to horse owners. The Cherokee County Saddle Club also hosts a general meeting for members and guests once a month, and the program at those meetings usually includes a special speaker who discusses subjects such as horse behavior, riding fitness, and legal issues of interest to riders and horse and land owners.

The Health Clinic included demos in equine massage and saddle fitting, equilates, and equine osteopathy.
Survivor Skills
The Survivor Skills Day included how to evacuate horses during a fire, how to get found if lost, and how to protect yourself when riding.
Special Speakers
  • John Warren of Professional Insurance and Finance Services in Cartersville spoke on Equine Insurance
  • Lauren Loper presented her talk on rider fitness, Be Fit 4 Riding.
  • Paul Pugliese from the Cherokee County Expension office talked about pasture management.
